Israel's Declaration: An Introduction

Students assigned to read and report on the Declaration of Independence will receive a road map through the document with the introduction by Professor Kenneth Stein. The text and intro also can provide the basis for discussions about the ideals of the modern state, the similarities and differences with the birth of the United States, and how Ben-Gurion and his fellow founders addressed such still-relevant issues as religion and non-Jewish citizens.
