Join The Paradigm Project, Teaching Beyond the Square and Laura Araman, Beginnings Nursery School’s Child Development Specialist.
In this workshop we will discuss the learning and the benefits of different types of power play, including superhero and rough and tumble play. Laura will distinguish between them and discuss how they differ from aggressive play. In order to support children in being successful and safe in this type of play, she will discuss strategies to help children learn about self-regulation, reading social cues, and making plans for play. Laura will also cover ways to engage parents in conversation on this topic, so that we can address their concerns and support their understanding of this developmentally appropriate and meaningful type of play.
