Jewish Resiliency in Difficult TImes
The Jewish people are in a time that is dark and painful. It is filled with uncertainty. And yet, our history tells us that in spite of these dark and painful moments in our collective story, we emerge strong. Our DNA is coded with not just the will to survive, but to thrive. For our students, this is a defining moment in their Jewish identity. We don’t want that moment to focus on fear and hatred. We want this moment to focus on the very traits that have enabled us to continue, against all odds, to be an Or LaGoyim.
Through historical sources we will learn about the promise between God and the Jewish people, ensuring our survival as a nation. When we are united we are unbreakable, and the best of our humanity is seen and felt. Through the incredible stories of first hand accounts which have already emerged from the crisis happening in Israel today, we see the courage and resiliency of the Jewish people, and the light that we can be when we embrace the middah, achdut.
