activity: Weighing our deeds

In this printout file-folder activity, students sort out the mitzvot and good deeds from the things that we apologize for doing around the High Holidays and Yom Kippur.

Craft: make your own pomander

In the past, people made clove apples, also known as pomanders, to bring to synagogue on Yom Kippur.
The pomander’s spicy smell helped people to feel less tired on a day when they were fasting. This classic High Holiday craft is also a fun and effective fine motor skill-building activity!
