Our resources gathered from across the internet are broken into articles, songs, videos, ceremonies, pieces of history and personal reflections. You can watch David Ben-Gurion reading the Declaration of Independence in 1948 or the Israel Air Force performing a Yom HaAtzmaut air show 70 years later. You can find 10 ways Jewish Israelis celebrate the holiday or 12 ways you can celebrate like an Israeli. You can listen to a play list of top Israeli songs perfect for Independence Day.

Some activity suggestions for using the links:

  • Have students decorate paper airplanes like Israel’s and film how well they fly to re-create the IDF air show.
  • Ask students to create videos of how they cook and celebrate Israel’s creation.
  • Ask groups of students to learn one of the songs and create a gallery video of them singing and/or performing them, or make their own music videos on TikTok.
  • Students can watch the video of the 2019 drone performance and try to identify the various historic sites the hundreds of drones depict, then either research and present a site or suggest additional sites for a drone performance.
