This is a craft idea for making your own tzedakah box that looks like a kitten. Includes a template.  l

You Will Need:

  • 1 empty oatmeal container and lid
  • 1 scissors
  • 1 sheet of: yellow paper, orange and pink paper
  • 2 large googly eyes (stickers)
  • 1 black marker
  • Printout of the template ( attached)
  • Tape

 

Cover the box:

Step 1: Cut out a circle of orange paper and glue it to the top of the lid.

Step 2. Cover the outside of the oatmeal container with construction paper. Tape into place. Trim of any extra paper.

Step 3:  Cut a rectangle slot, out of the lid. It should be large enough for a quarter to fit through.

 

Cut the shapes:

Step 4: Place the template onto the orange paper. Cut out the large triangles (ears), and tail.

Step 5: Place the template onto the yellow paper. Cut out the smaller triangles for the inside of the ears.

 

Make your kitty:

Step 6: Tape the yellow triangles to the middle of orange triangles. Then tape the two ears to the back of the container

Step 7: Place the template onto the pink paper and cut out the pink nose. Tape it to the front of the container

Step 8: Use a black magic marker to draw strips on the tail, the whistkers and mouth as shown.

Step: 9: stick the googly eyes in place

Step 10: Glue or tape the tail to the back of the container.
