Shine A Light In-Home Resources for Families
Shine A Light is a national initiative to illuminate the dangers of antisemitism through education, community partnerships, workplace engagement and community advocacy. Shine A Light draws from the inspiration of Chanukah, the Festival of Lights, and seeks to catalyze conversations within and across communities, so that people will better understand what constitutes antisemitism and take steps to respond.
The Jewish Education Project is a proud content partner of the #ShineALight Initiative and is delighted to provide free educational materials to parents, educators, and learners. With content designed for children early childhood through high school, and for the home as well as schools and informal learning settings, there’s a way for everyone to Shine A Light. Mensch-ify is an alternative learning program that is held twice a month for families with children in Pre-K to 6th grade. It is a developmentally appropriate program, built upon the parent-child co-learning experience, that combines stories, songs, art, movement, and play to provide families with the tools they need to live a Jewish life that works for them.
