Why is there a tradition to make bonfires on Lag BaOmer? Why do we light a candle on the anniversary of the death of a loved one (yahrzeit)? Could there be a connection between the two? 

In this lesson, for middle school through adult, students discuss the traditions of lighting a yahrzeit candle and building bonfires on Lag BaOmer.
