NGSS Part 2: Practices and Themes
This second session will have teachers focus more on the Science and Engineering Practices (SEP) and Crosscutting Concepts (CC). Whereas the Disciplinary core Ideas focus on what to teach, the SEPs and CCs focus on how to teach it, how to speak about science, and how class time should be allocated. We throw around terms like inquiry-based learning and student-centered instruction, and the SEPs and CCs often have the answers as to what that might look like with details on what to expect from students in different grade bands.
Just Words® is a highly explicit, multisensory decoding and spelling program for older students and adults.
