Israel 101: The US—Israel Relationships will be led over three sessions by Barak Sella, a research fellow at the Middle East Initiative at the Harvard Kennedy School and one of the leading Israeli experts on US-Israel relations and World Jewry. Sessions will include presentations and discussions on the history of American—Israeli diplomacy, the history of American Jews’ relationship with the State of Israel, and recent developments in both.

Israel 101 is a new initiative from The Jewish Education Project, offering Jewish educators across settings the opportunity to build foundational content knowledge of Israel and Zionism. In each standalone Israel 101 course, educators will explore a topic of contemporary significance through interactive virtual sessions with an expert educator.

Participants are expected to commit to active participation in all sessions, and to limited reading/listening ahead of each session.
