NYT Lesson of the Day: What Would the End of Roe Mean? Key Questions and Answers
According to a leaked draft opinion from February, the Supreme Court has voted to strike down the landmark Roe v. Wade decision that has guaranteed the right to abortion for nearly a half-century. While the ruling is not final, and Supreme Court justices sometimes change their minds, the disclosure set off a political earthquake with potentially broad electoral and legal consequences. If Roe is indeed overturned, many conservative states are likely to outlaw nearly all abortions.
In this lesson, learners will learn about what the end of Roe would mean in the United States. Then, they will develop a list of questions they have about the issue and seek to answer at least one of them before reflecting on how they feel about this news.
This lesson can help educators give context to a discussion of Jewish perspectives about the subject.

One of the successes of J-Life is that it continues to build community among parents. Most of the learners who started in kindergarten have stayed to continue going on to the upper grades. Parents express that they have a lot of fun participating in J-Life and that they enjoy coming to these experiences.
