Jewish educators today are charged with meeting the changing needs of teachers and learners: the weaving of Israel education into the fabric of Jewish education, deeper understanding of Zionism and antisemitism, age-appropriate framings of current events, and teaching the whole child. This summer, The Jewish Education Project is offering working groups for leaders of supplementary schools engaged in the design or redesign of Israel Education curricular materials for Israel Education learners in grades K-8. Educators will participate in a collaborative peer network for curriculum development, engage with core frameworks, and emerge with new resources for Israel Education.

Working groups will meet weekly for four sessions (week of July 8 to week of July 29) and will connect with other educators one-on-one to give and receive peer feedback on curricular materials between sessions. Participants who attend at least 3 out of the 4 group meetings will qualify for two hours of consultation with a TJEP staff member.  Curricular materials created by the working groups will be featured in a collection on the Jewish Educator Portal.

Applicants will rank the following options according to preference, and will be assigned to one group as their Working Group:

  • Tuesdays 11am Eastern / 10am Central / 8am Pacific • 7/9, 7/16, 7/23, 7/30
  • Wednesdays 3pm Eastern / 2pm Central / 12pm Pacific • 7/10, 7/17, 7/24, 7/31
  • Thursdays 1pm Eastern / 12pm Central / 10am Pacific • 7/11, 7/18, 7/25, 8/1
  • Thursdays 3pm Eastern / 2pm Central / 12pm Pacific • 7/11, 7/18, 7/25, 8/1

Working Groups will be assigned by 12pm ET on Friday, July 5th.

The Zoom link will be shared once your working group has been assigned. Please be in touch with Mikhael Reuven Kesher at mkesher@jewishedproject.org with any questions.
