Responding to Crisis

Jewish Education Center of Cleveland (Cleveland Heights, OH) - JECC

For the past 15 years, the JECC responded to crises, natural and human-made disasters, by publishing “Immediate Response Curricula.” Today, they have been organized into one comprehensive micro-site which includes:

  • A section on how to help children respond to tragedy, created over the years through conversations with professionals from different walks of life.
  • Sections offering avenues for response (through Jewish tradition, spoken word, the arts, etc.)
  • A collection of Jewish texts that may be accessed for different situations.
  • A collection of resources that complement this fluid curriculum guide.
  • And a section on responding to crisis in Israel.

In addition, the JECC has a separate unit for teaching about Antisemitism (revised 2018), designed for middle and high school students.
