Julia is an educator, facilitator and parent with over fifteen years of experience working with young children with special needs and their families. She has taught in a wide variety of special education settings with a primary focus on inclusion, early childhood and young children with behavioral challenges. After graduating from Harvard University with a degree in the History of Science and a minor in child development, Julia joined Teach for America and taught for several years in Phoenix, Arizona. Returning to the East Coast she received her Master’s in Early Childhood Special Education from the Bank Street School of Education and spent eight years teaching in the South Bronx. Julia is passionate about helping ALL children find success in school by empowering students, teachers and families in creative ways. In her spare time she loves reading with her own young children, writing childrens’ books and sharing stories with other educators.
