The free, downloadable Make A Tiptoe Torah Scroll Activity is a meaningful lesson plan that offers children a fun way  to interact with the weekly Torah portion. Using short adapted text, discussion questions, and illustration ideas, students create a personal connection to the Torah. To make the learning memorably sweet, Tiptoe Through The Torah classes conclude with a small sweet treat.

Students can also make Torah covers, carry their scroll on Simchat Torah, and show or dedicate their Torah at end of year program.  Ideal for Kindergarten through Fifth grade, to start as a camp project, or to do as a family as part of a weekly Torah time.

My writing specialty is adapting the Torah's original text to make its brilliance more accessible to different audiences.

There is my Weekly Torah portion summaries featured on the home page of  MyJewishLearning.com which have reached millions since the website started two decades ago.

There is my study guide, Tiptoe Through Genesis, and my website, Tiptoe Through The Torah.com which offers a  'Make An Illustrated Scroll Activity' which is used in  schools, synagogues and other groups as well as families and individuals.

All of my Torah adaptations include open-ended questions which integrate my background as a teacher. I briefly taught pre-K and Kindergarten, then spent over a decade as a community college Oral Communications professor. This course  was part public speaking and part communications skills in daily living, including self-perceptions, relationships, and group work.
