Helping Kids Navigate Scary News Stories


Bad news is abundant, and it's nearly impossible to keep children's curiosity from opening doors to today's scary scenes. This resource suggests that while it may be futile to protect children from hearing about the events of the world, we can still effectively moderate how they perceive and internalize what they encounter. PBS breaks into three ideas how an adult can reframe and comfort children during times of societal distress.
