In memory of Rabbi and Professor Zvi H. Szubin z”l, the Ateret Zvi Prize is awarded annually to an outstanding essay displaying rigorous scholarship and religious insight. We are grateful to the Szubin family for their generous support of the Ateret Zvi Prize.The 5875 Ateret Zvi Prize is exclusively for high school students. In future years, we will return to accepting submissions from the general public.
Objective
Write an essay that offers an original interpretation of a classical Jewish text with a meaningful application for our lives today. Submissions will be evaluated according to the following criteria: (1) Textual analysis (2) Religious insight (3) Quality of writing (4) Novelty.
The winning piece will be shared in written form by Hadar and partner organizations. A public award program will take place on March 30, 2025.
