The Jewish Education Project is pleased to facilitate the Master's in School Building Leadership Yeshiva Day School Cohort.
Earn a free Master's in School Leadership and join a cohort of dedicated Yeshiva Day School professionals focused on enhancing leadership in schools and improving the education of students.
The SBL cohort program is a two-year, 6-semester program that takes place in-person at Brooklyn College. The scholarship is funded on a semester-by-semester basis, pending federal funding.
Applications for this cohort will re-open in the spring of 2025. Please see below for instructions.
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
This program is open to all NYC Yeshiva Day School teachers, principals, and other school leaders. Other yeshiva day school personnel may apply but will not be eligible for the scholarship funds.
There are spots for 20 candidates in this program per cohort. Candidates must have an NYS recognized BA/BS degree and be prepared to participate in a full 36-credit graduate school program. As a private school educator, you may apply for this program as your first master’s degree.
The GRE Exam is no longer required to apply to this program.
WHEN AND WHERE DOES THE PROGRAM TAKE PLACE?
This SBL cohort program meets for six semesters over the course of two years. Cohort participants will register for 2 courses / 6 credits per semester.
Classes will be scheduled for evenings. No classes will be scheduled on Jewish holidays. All classes will take place in-person at Brooklyn College.
WHAT IS THE COST?
This program is funded through the Federal ESSA Title IIA program. Tuition will be paid in full for NYC Yeshiva Day School staff on a semester-by-semester basis pending continued funding. All related fees (application, textbooks, travel, etc.) will be the responsibility of each participant. Other yeshiva day school personnel may apply and choose to self-fund, keeping in mind that tuition rates are residency based.

Learn more about the Brooklyn College M.S.Ed. in Educational Leadership. Please note that the NYC Day School Cohort will not follow the exact program path as described on the Brooklyn College website. To maintain the cohort structure, transfer credits will not be accepted.
