Music Educators Network
About this Network:
Meet with fellow music educators and songleaders all working to further develop their music classes and strengthen their Jewish communities through music.
Join a discussion-based, collaborative setting to exchange ideas, repertoire, and strategies. Participants will be encouraged to present examples of how they use music in the classroom, successes and challenges they have faced, and brainstorm with others to come up with new ideas to continue to support their work.
About the Facilitators:
Hannah Gundersheim
Hannah Gundersheim (she/her) is a songleader and Jewish educator based in Manhattan. Hannah grew up immersed in musical theatre and Jewish community, and began songleading to combine the two worlds into one! She holds a BFA in Music Theatre from the Hartt School and has over ten years of songleading experience in a wide variety of Jewish settings with children and adults of all ages. In her current role as Program Director at Tkiya Music, Hannah creates and maintains Jewish music programs and partnerships with over fifty organizations, as well as supervises the part-time teaching staff who execute the programs, bringing joyful Jewish connection through music to children and families all across the country. Outside of supporting the teachers and partners, Hannah travels to teach at conferences, songleads at conventions, retreats, and special events, leads an annual professional development cohort of other Jewish music professionals, and serves as Head Songleader at Camp Havaya. When Hannah is not working as a Jewish professional, you can find her writing and performing original music, watching her favorite sitcoms, and spending time with family and friends.
