NYC Educator Network for Similar Congregations
About this Network:
Education directors and associate directors from small and medium congregations will gather to share and develop best practices in the field of part-time Jewish education, specifically suited to the similar needs that face schools of similar sizes. As we learn from each other, participants will deepen their relationships among colleagues, share highlights of their work, and collaborate to address challenges and create solutions.
Additional Information:
- This network is designed for education directors and associate directors of Manhattan and Bronx congregations of small and medium size, or other supplementary religious schools, with no full-time faculty. While not specifically targeting for large school programs, our network is open and beneficial to all. Please be in touch if you have questions.
- We are meeting in-person! Thank you for hosting us.
- We are excited to meet professionals' needs for gathering with professionals from similar congregations.
About the Facilitator:

Loen Amer has been an experiential Jewish educator working with teens since she was one herself! She has served at Temple Israel of Great Neck as the Director of Teen and Community Engagement, and at Bet Torah in Mt Kisco–first as their Director of Youth Engagement, and then as their Director of Experiential Learning for Children and Teens. Loen has also worked for Ramah Israel, the Hillel at Hofstra University, Woodbury Jewish Center, and Temple Beth Sholom in Roslyn Heights.
Loen has a voracious love for lifelong Jewish learning, and most recently studied Torah le’shmah, Torah for its own sake, at the Conservative Yeshiva in Jerusalem. She lives on Manhattan's Upper West Side and enjoys baking and reading.
