Student Centered Learning for Yeshiva/Day School Educators
About this Network:
In partnership with Kadima, we are hosting both an administrator and educator (N-8) track that will lay out the rationale, principles, strategies, and tools of a successful student-centered classroom/school. Each track will include an in-person workshop, virtual meetings, and five individual coaching sessions per school. During the year, each school will take on, and implement, a school-specific SCL change initiative which will be the foundation for gradually transforming teaching and learning.
SCL allows students to take ownership of their learning rather than be passive recipients of information. They ask questions, explore real-world problems, engage in deep inquiry, and connect their studies to their lives and communities. SCL helps students synthesize general and Judaic knowledge to address contemporary issues with wisdom and creativity
