NYS Next Generation Learning Standards 3-8 Math Tests: Making sure your students are ready
Objectives:
• Sort out tweaks to the standards and tests — minor but many thorough examples
• Revisit which topics are pre-test and post-test since it has changed a bit in some grades.
• Look at some newly released sample questions and determine whether your own students would be ready for them by test day.
• Evaluate your test readiness plan with a simple 3-part rubric.

About the presenter:
Dennis Desormier meets thousands of teachers each year in his workshops and school visits. His professional experience combines years of classroom teaching with curriculum and instructional design experience with several publishers and school districts. However, his greatest love in the education field is professional development for teachers, school leaders, and district leaders in the areas of mathematics and assessment. He has written or co-written most of the mathematics and assessment workshops currently presented by Catapult staff around the country as well as some of the STEAM workshops. He has a passion for balancing rigorous teaching and learning with a lighthearted environment.

It is a developmentally appropriate program, built upon the parent-child co-learning experience, that combines stories, songs, art, movement, and play to provide families with the tools they need to live a Jewish life that works for them.
