Israel Education with Young Learners

The Jewish Education Project
Online
Free

This three-part eCourse considers how to explore Israel with young learners. It will introduce you to how young learners think about Israel, based on the research of Dr. Anna Hartman and Dr. Sivan Zakai.

The three units are:

  • Understanding Young Learners
  • What Do Young Children Know About Israel? And What You Should Do About It!
  • Bringing Israel Education for Young Learners to Your Setting

As part of this eCourse, you will be asked to interview your teachers about their approach to teaching Israel.  This interview will help you elevate Israel education in your organization.

Please note: This e-course was designed before the events of October 7th, 2023, and its aftermath. We believe that the educational framework offered in this e-course still holds true: Young learners can approach the complexity of Israel in developmentally appropriate ways, and it is imperative that as educators we work to build intentional Israel education in our educational settings. We recognize how difficult it might be to do this work at this time, both personally and professionally, and also how important this work is.
The Jewish Education Project is committed to supporting your work during this difficult time. For additional resources, please reach out to:
