Better Together Grants

Join the Better Together movement! 

Who said senior citizens and teens/tweens have nothing in common? Help teens in your community learn from the wisdom of elders, and give senior citizens a chance to forge new connections. 

Who Is Eligible For A Grant?

This is a national grant. If you are a teen-facing organization in the United States, and you meet all other listed requirements, you are eligible to apply. 

Jewish day schools, congregational school programs, Hebrew high school programs, youth group programs, JCCs, and College programs, e.g. Hillel, JLIC, Chabad on Campus are all eligible. 

Requirements of Grant Recipients:

  • A maximum 2:1 ratio of teens to seniors; must have a minimum of 10 teens and 5 seniors

  • Minimum of 8 learning sessions per year for teens rooted in Jewish values and text  

  • Minimum of 8 thoughtfully planned, Jewish-themed intergenerational programs with seniors

  • End of year celebration/event for teens and seniors 

  • Better Together presentations at end of year events for the organization/school and community 

  • Participation in the national Better2Write Contest 

  • An organizational administrator/teacher/leader spearheading and supervising the program in its entirety from the teen-facing organization, along with a separate admin/advisor/employee supervising the senior program
