Putting a Temporary Roof over one's Head

Get outside and explore where you can find temporary shelter as you and your students delve into what it means to dwell in a structure that invites the natural world inside. Students will understand what makes a sukkah’s roof kosher (i.e. fit to be used as a sukkah’s roof), appraise where they could put up a sukkah, and assess how different locations or constructions of a sukkah might affect their relationship to the ritual of the holiday.

Best suited for 3rd - 8th graders.

Additional Sukkot resources are available from JTeach.org here.

Includes one downloadable activity.
